Foreword

     It is a great pleasure to introduce Martin McCorkle’s Walk With Me: The Story of One Man’s Life with Muscular Degeneration and His 1,700-Mile Walk Through California. 
     John Muir, my great-grandfather, encouraged people to “climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”
     Martin McCorkle took these words to heart. The inspirational story that follows tells about a man who will not be limited by the challenges he faces. He challenges his limits. His example shows us all how the world can be a richer place.
